description:
SHPMA is the final project of the Master degree. It consists on social habitation by participatory design and construction, and self-management. For 60 families, according to the program Minha Casa Minha Vida (My House My Life).

The proposed project intends to integrate with the pre existing neighborhood trough the creation of public promenades, green spaces and situations that allows solutions to the needs of the local population. This needs correspond to housing, professional, economic and social levels. An integrated neighborhood is a structured neighborhood! The project consists in a matrix block composed by one living room, two rooms, one toilet and one kitchen. The main structure of the habitation is in wood and the structural walls are in nogging. Given the reality of the project location the design of the housing structure allows the introduction of new spaces – that are called “puxadinhos”. These new spaces are constructed with pre fabricated wood, independent of the main structure of the habitation. These pre fabricated pieces consists in different modules that are: windows, doors, commercial openings, etc. They can be placed depending the different needs of each family. The only established limit is the roof.
