This project in partnership with the KCidade, comes with the desire to the rehabilitation of public space in the Pendão Neighborhood at Queluz/Belas, Lisbon.
This neighborhood integrates one association with a fix location, that is called Pendão em Movimento (“Pendão on the Move”), that welcomes and promotes an extensive range of activities such as training in several areas like sport, employment, urban renewal, among others.
The partnership with Vfablab - IUL appeared for technical support in the urban renewal projects, promoted through a contest: "Muda as Ruas do Pendão" (”Change the streets of Pendão”),were the actors are always the residents. This contest comes with the intention of pushing forward the citizen’s engagement and local communities in urban regeneration projects, as well at public spaces.
The projects that received funding consisted in painting walls with the support of artists, building a streetworkout, improvement of green spaces and its suitability for trade activities (markets) and sports, and improvement of pre-existing living spaces.
